Most designers have a passion project. This is mine.

REMEMORY 01 is a 72-page artist's book that combines original writing, photography, collage, archival imagery, and publication design into a single immersive narrative experience. Exploring memory, grief, identity, and impermanence, it became an opportunity to bring copywriting, design, art direction, image making, and storytelling together under one roof.

The result is equal parts book, exhibition, memoir, and experiment: proof that some of the most meaningful creative work begins when there is no client to impress.

context

REMEMORY 01 began as an exploration of memory, grief, identity, and impermanence through writing, photography, collage, drawing, and visual storytelling.

Rather than documenting events chronologically, the work focuses on the fragments, symbols, phantoms, and emotional echoes that remain long after the moment itself has passed.

The project became the first volume in an ongoing series examining memory as both subject matter and creative material.

APPROACH

The guiding question was simple: what if memory behaves more like architecture than narrative?

Inspired by the Japanese concept of MONO NO AWARE, the project was designed as a collection of interconnected spaces rather than a linear story.

Recurring motifs, layered imagery, fragmented text, and shifting visual relationships mirror the way memories evolve, overlap, disappear, and return over time.

Every design decision was made to support the experience of remembering rather than simply describing it.

solutions

The final work combines original writing, photography, scans, found materials, printed ephemera, transformed archival imagery, and digital collage into a cohesive visual system.

Each spread functions as a self-contained composition while contributing to a larger narrative structure. Symbols repeat and transform throughout the book, allowing meaning to emerge through accumulation and association

The result exists somewhere between artist's book, visual essay, archive, and memoir.

reflection

Some projects are created to solve a problem. Others are created to better understand one.

REMEMORY 01 became an examination of what remains after experiences have ended and how those fragments continue to shape identity. Throughout the process, one idea emerged repeatedly: memory is rarely fixed. It is constantly reconstructed, revised, and reinterpreted.

In many ways, the book is less about remembering the past than learning how to live alongside it.
